The Power to Make a Difference

Today i was able the change the lives of so many unique individuals.  With only 2 days left before Thanksgiving, I was given the opportunity to make a difference by volunteering my time and skills for the better good. Yet, it was only for a few hours, but i gave it my all, to make this Thanksgiving special for individuals who truly deserved it. It all started at 9:30am with a crowd of about 1,700 people waiting in line in front of the San Jose's City Team Ministries. The crowd consisted of Low income families, Homeless people, and the Elderly. All waiting for a chance to get a hot meal and free groceries that were donated by compassionate individuals and companies within Silicon Valley. I was working as a translator because i could speak Vietnamese fluently enough to communicate with others. However, as the day went by, i realized i was the only one, out of all the volunteers that was able speak Vietnamese. Because of this, I stated to understand the impact my job had on these people. As i talked to each individual who walked into the facility, i started to understand how these people were just like you and I. That they once had dreams and aspirations, yet they lost it all, because of the mistakes they made in life . Some were incredibly intelligent, but society shun them away because of their appearance while others had social disadvantages because of their upbringing. Regardless of the situation i tried my best to encouraged them to believe in their dreams and to never give up. That there is people out there, who truly care and believe in them. In the end, what they really needed was someone to understand and help them through their hard times. The children on the other hand, were the ones who really touched my heart. They all were adorable and i could tell by their eyes, that Thanksgiving meant a lot to them. While other individuals would have taken a simple meal and groceries for granted, it meant so much more to these children. Their smiles and laughter will forever leave an imprint in my heart. As the day finally came to an end, i started to see how a group ordinary people, had the power to make a differences, in their own community, and i was glad to be a part of it. So I encourage others to do the same as well. May it be helping a friend or relative in need. Even reminding others that you are there for them. Whatever it takes, just remember that you too, can make a difference in the lives of others. Happy Thanksgiving!

The two videos below expression the ideas and goals CTM mission, something that i'm very proud to be a part of.However, these people are truly the heroes of society!

Today we made two strides forwards only to make one step back by the actions of others. It is sad to realize that in a country so great as ours, we still has the capacity to fall so far from the true meaning of equality.I am sadden by it, yet I except the fact that Prop 8 has pass by the voters of California. A prop that ban same sex marriages and clearly discrimination them from having equal rights. But my heart goes out to my friends and family members who are affected by this unjustified decision. I wish I could have done more, that I could have reached out to more individuals, or even educate the ones who truly did not understood what this cause was about. But I know that i did my best and that this fight is far from over. So due to the decision that has fallen upon us, I realize how sicken I am by all these so called TRUE believers. That mislead voters into thinking that they are the victims of Prop 8. They said that they had the right to express "Free Speech" and that we were repressing them. But I believe it should be restated, that they were trying to be express "Prejudice". While we were trying to stop it from happening. Because of these events, i now realized what Richard Dawkins meant when he said that, "a delusion that has been plaguing us for centuries". Yet, I think Robert Pirsig quoted it best by saying that, "When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion". I think their both right and fear for the future of mankind by this so called delusion that is dividing us all ....

This has got to be a joke right? That there is a spirit that's worst then Islam?... How could they insult another religion like Islam to make their cause justifiable?! Do they have no shame!  Give me a F@#King break!

P.S. I myself come for a religious background as well. But this is NOT what religion should be about.

Obama Won by a landslide!!!!!!Are we ready to except change?..... Yes We CAN!!
